Charm II Aminoglycoside Tests for Feed and Grain >> Available in kits of 100 and 500 tests
Charm provides two types of Charm II Kits for rapid aminoglycodide detection in feed and grain. One type detects: streptomycin, dihydrostreptomycin, kanamycin, and tobramycin. A second type of kit detects gentamicin, neomycin, amikacin, and apramycin.
CHARM II AMINOGLYCOSIDE TESTS AT A GLANCE • Specific kit for gentamicin and neomycin-type aminoglycocides • Specific kit for streptomycin-type aminoglycocides • 10 minute assay time • 10 to 15 minute preparation time • 50 g to 100 g sample size • Same system can test multiple commodities for multiple residues

How It Works Charm II Aminoglycoside Tests use a binding reagent with specific receptor sites that bind aminoglycosides. The binder is added to a sample along with an exempt amount of labeled aminoglycoside (tracer). Any aminoglycoside drugs in the sample compete for the binding sites with this tracer. The amount of tracer that binds to the receptor sites is measured and compared to a previously determined Control Point. The Control Point is the cutoff point between a negative or positive sample. The greater the amount of tracer measured, the lower the aminoglycoside drug concentration in the sample. The smaller the amount of tracer measured, the greater the aminoglycoside drug concentration in the sample.
