Charm Tests for the Beverage Industry Charm provides many types of rapid diagnostic tests that can help the Beverage industry improve food safety and quality. Charm’s ATP-based sanitation program provides instant assessment of the hygienic status of surfaces (beverage and non-beverage contact), water quality and environmental areas. When a filtration step is added, the same Charm ATP swab used to test CIP equipment (WaterGiene) can also be used to meet strict sensitivity requirements for testing bottled, filtered, or rinse waters. Beverage facilities concerned about allergens can also use the AllerGiene swab to optimize cleaning and strengthen their allergen control program. For Extended Shelf Life (ESL) and certain shelf-stable juice and nutritional beverages, Charm’s ATP-based EPIC system rapidly predicts keeping quality, shortening previously required hold times and allowing for faster product release. Colorimetric and fluorescent indicator tests for coliforms, E. coli, and hydrogen sulfide producing enterobacteriaciae are also available.Charm provides many types of rapid diagnostic tests that can help the Beverage industry improve food safety and quality.
Beverage facilities can also utilize the Charm CideLite test, a rapid screening method for the presence or absence of organophosphate and n-methylcarbamate pesticides. While the grape and wine industry can also avail themselves of Charm’s ROSA Ochratoxin test, the only lateral flow strip to detect Ochratoxin A.

WaterGiene WaterGiene is a super-enhanced test to detect total ATP in water, which is a critical indicator of total biologic activity resulting from microorganisms, as well as plant, animal or food material. WaterGiene is the most sensitive ATP water quality test due to enhanced reagent chemistry and superior bioluminescence detection on the Charm novaLUM instrument. WATERGIENE AT A GLANCE WaterGiene is useful for detecting: • ATP in Rinse Water • ATP in Clean-in-Place (CIP) Systems • ATP in Water Storage Tanks • ATP on Cooling Towers (Water Economizers) • ATP in Warmers •ATP in Potable Water • ATP in Post-Wastewater Treatment

AllerGiene Charm AllerGiene is an ATP-based allergen control test designed to prevent cross-contact from allergenic food soil on process equipment. It measures ATP (adenosine triphosphate) at low levels as an indicator for the presence of food on wet-cleaned surfaces or rinse waters. By achieving a higher level of “clean”, better management of allergen control programs is achieved.
ALLERGIENE AT A GLANCE • 30 second test • Broad spectrum indicator test • Achieve a higher level of “Clean” • No reagent preparation or extraction • ATP is common to multiple allergenic foods •Patented thread design for ease and repeatability • Recyclable components for low environmental impact

EPIC Charm EPIC is a new generation microplate bioluminescence system that rapidly predicts spoilage in shelf-stable, UHT, and extended shelf-life (ESL) beverage products. Fusing speed and sensitivity, EPIC positively impacts the bottom line compared to conventional microbiological methods, enabling faster 36 hour product release from warehouse, reducing process line downtime, and providing more time for remediation EPIC AT A GLANCE • Faster release of product • 36 hour incubation for most products • Patented Plate Mask: Eliminates interference between wells to ensure correct readings • Short 30-minute testing time to results for a full 96-well plate
ROSA Ochratoxin Quantitative Test CCharm provides the first GIPSA-approved lateral flow test for ochratoxin. Charm ROSA Ochratoxin Quantitative with Methanol Extraction Test delivers simple, fast, quantitative ochratoxin detection in feed and grain with convenient strip tests. Innovative Rapid One Step Assay (ROSA) technology ensures speed, ease of use, quantitation and accuracy.
OCHRA-G AT A GLANCE • Quantitative Results in 10 Minutes! • Rapid One Step Assay • 70% Methanol Extraction • GIPSA-Approved for barley, malted barley and wheat • Charm Validated for corn gluten meal, sorghum, and soybean meal

CideLite Pesticide The Charm CideLite Test is a screening method that saves time by screening individual samples for the presence or absence of multiple organophosphate and n-methylcarbamate pesticides/ insecticides in water, feeds, and a variety of other food products. CIDELITE AT A GLANCE • 15 minute assay • Simple extraction for most matrices • No extraction for water or milk • No purification step • Broad spectrum detection for organophosphate and n-methylcarbamates
E*Colite E*Colite is a single use, self-contained test with selective medium designed to resuscitate and detect chlorine-stressed coliform and E. coli encountered in drinking, bottled and food/beverage waters. A “bag” and “vial” version of E*Colite provide convenient, easy to use indicator screen tests for pathogen control. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that all public water suppliers regularly test for coliform bacteria and deliver water that meets the EPA standards. E*COLITE AT A GLANCE •EPA Approved Analytical Method for National Drinking Water Regulations •EPA Approved for Compliance Monitoring under the Ground Water Rule • Presence/Absence of coliforms and E. coli in water and beverages e.g., fresh juice • Bacteriocide pouch included for field applications when autoclave unavailable • Blue color development for unequivocal coliform determination in rust colored/turbid waters • Yellow after 28 hours indicates negative for coliform and E. coli • Fluorescence determines E. coli presence
ColiGel ColiGel is a single use, self-contained version of the E*Colite test with selective medium designed to detect coliform and E. coli in drinking, bottled and food / beverage waters. ColiGel contains a special “gelling” agent that allows quantitation of colony forming units as well as presence/absence. COLIGEL AT A GLANCE • Presence / absence of coliforms and E. coli • Quantitation of coliforms and E. coli • Detect 1 cfu/ 100 ml • Yellow after 28 hours indicates negative for coliform and E. coli • Fluorescence determines E. coli presence • No filters or media preparation • Shelf-stable space saving design •Bactericide pouch included for field applications when autoclave unavailable
