Charm Inhibition Tests
Charm provides a variety of broad-spectrum microbial inhibition tests to easily detect antibiotic residues in milk, kidney, tissue, poultry serum, live animal urine, water and feed extracts.  Charm Inhibition Tests are blue in color to start. Users add the relevant sample and incubate. The test will turn yellow during incubation if the sample is free of antimicrobial contaminants. If the sample stays blue, it indicates the presence of an inhibitor, such as an antibiotic. Charm Inhibition Tests help food producers and processors meet regulatory requirements and provide safe, compliant product to market.

KIS Test
The Charm Kidney Inhibition Swab (KIS) is a simple to use inhibition test for screening broad-spectrum antimicrobial drugs in fresh or thawed kidney tissue. A modified procedure allows the KIS Test to be applied to poultry serum, animal feed, beef and porcine urine, and water.

CowSide II
Charm CowSide II is a broad-spectrum microbial inhibition assay that detects inhibitors, such as antibiotics – the most common inhibitors found in raw milk. Enhanced sensitivity to beta-lactams, sulfonamides, aminoglycosides and tetracyclines make CowSide II a valuable, cost-effective tool for screening raw commingled and ultra-pasteurized cow milk for a broad spectrum of antibiotic families at EU and US regulatory levels.

Blue Yellow II
Charm Blue Yellow II is a microbial inhibition assay that detects inhibitors, such as antibiotics – the most common inhibitors found in raw milk. The Charm Blue Yellow II has achieved the Charm Gold Standard by establishing a new benchmark in sensitivity by detecting many antimicrobial drugs at or below EU MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits). It is designed for high volume screening of raw commingled and ultra-pasteurized cow milk.

BSDA Disc Assay

Charm provides the only Bacillus stearothermophilus disc assay (BSDA) officially approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for detecting beta-lactam antibiotics in raw bulk tank milk. If antibiotics are present in the milk sample, Charm BSDA provides objective zone size measurement based on microbial growth inhibition.
